Ahhhh...so THAT'S what's done. I've never learned this style of painting so I always wondered how the heck they kept the initial B&W when the color was applied afterwards...
Hi there, this is an amazing tutorial, but I always have the same problem coming back If anyone could help, that would be really nice! After I've set the layer for coloring to Color, the color I want won't show in the artwork. Perhaps you can see what I mean in this deviation of mine [link] You can barely see the flaming red I wanted for the creature (that's why I darkened the whole picture (it used to be way lighter), that was the only way SOME of the color showed through). I did the colors in an Overlay layer, so what you see is NOT the Color mode. At first, I tried the layer mode Color to give the creature a dark and saturated red color. Whenever I put some of the color on the layer, my creature would become a bright, dull red that looked a bit like the red you get when using Quick Mask Mode! What happened? What did I do wrong? Thanks very much if you'd help me! It really bugs me
How long does a painting of this size usually take you? And how about a scene with many people, like [link] ? I really love your work btw. And this is a super helpful process/tutorial.
